July 6 2011 – Whitebox Studios. On Saturday August 6, 2011, Vancouver will again experience being photographed by film photographers and enthusiasts at the 12×12 Vancouver Photo Marathon. The event will start at English Bay, 10AM, and photographers will be given a marked roll of film containing 12 exposures. Every hour for the next 12 hours, a theme will be randomly drawn and released. Photographers capture an image per theme in one exposure. At 10PM, the negatives would be developed and judged and showcased at Photohaus Gallery.
THE 2011 12×12 VANCOUVER PHOTO MARATHON IS HAPPENING:

Just a 35mm film camera is needed to enter this event, and we, Whitebox Studios encourage photographers to try this exciting event. Perhaps, you’d go and practice shooting some film before starting this contest! Get your hands dirty and get out of your comfort zone. It’s definitely different shooting with film, and it helps photographers get back to the basics.
Starting tomorrow, July 6, 2011, tickets would be sold on Vancouver Photo Marathon website. We strongly advise everyone to be on their computer at 8PM July 6, to purchase the tickets because they will be gone, FAST!
