June 6, 2011 – Whitebox Studios. To be honest, there’s surely more reasons why it’s awesome to shoot at Whitebox Studios, we had a hard time choosing which ones to put in! Perhaps you’d like to add some more?
10. We’ve got awesome parking, and it’s FREE.
We get 4 dedicated parking spaces in front of the studio that’s for free. If you need more, behind our office building we got over 50 free parking spaces – hope that’s enough!
9. Whitebox Studios is transit-convenient.
We’re very near Oak St. Bridge and Knight St. Bridge, and access to both HWY 99 and 91. Taking the skytrain? Stop at the Canada Line Bridgeport Station, and take the bus 430 Metrotown bus and get off at Shell Rd. Here’s the Map to Whitebox Studios

8. We have a 10×10 foot loading bay, with wooden slats for easy access!
That means, if you’ve got tons of equipment you want to bring in like these guys, you can easily bring it in from your truck. Roll in the racks of clothing and equipment.
Also, with the number of cars getting photographed at Whitebox Studios, we have wooden slats for easy access for lowered cars, so cars like this Z4 can get in.
7. We’re probably the largest dedicated daylight studio in town!

6. We’ve got great package rates for equipment!
So you were looking to book a studio for your shoot. It takes quite a good amount of effort to take everything down to the studio. But what if the equipment is already at the studio? And if you need something we don’t have, we can transport them for you for a transport fee?
And if you do want to rent our equipment, you can also rent them per hour that you will be using them, half day or full day. You can rent them by the package (Basic or Premium) and save some dollars renting it with the studio rental, or you can rent them per piece as well.

Shimon Karmel here rented out Profoto 8 foot Umbrella for an editorial shoot, and just like the photographers who have come to use it, they just absolutely love it!
6. We thought of you before we created the studio.
Before the studio was created, we thought about what you, (YES, YOU!) our client, would need! What YOUR clients would need. So, we made sure we had all the amenities that would make this place awesome – make-up area, change facilities, clean washroom and shower, kitchenette, lounge, among other things. The shooting space – you can take a look at the photos created here at the studio, absolutely amazing! You can view the full list of Whitebox Studios Features and Amenities here.
Some details we provide you include giving you free coffee and tea (and of course if you’d like to donate for it, that would be great), heating and airconditioning so you’ll be kept all dry and warm during the fall / winter months, and cool enough for the summer months. Our studio also doubles as an event venue and we’re hosted quite a good number of them too.

5. We have absolutely flexible hours for studio rentals!
We’ve heard our client’s requests and we’ve also done our research. So, we have a 2 hour minimum studio rental.
Not only that, but you can rent any time from 7AM – 12MD Monday – Sunday. We don’t have time blocks, and we won’t turn you away just because you want to shoot up to 5AM, we can make an exception for that. Just let us know!
4. We support your creative education, and your creative juices!
If you don’t already know – we support creative education. Photography Students receive 10% discount on the studio and equipment rentals. Every now and then, we run promotions that help you, as a photographer to work on your portfolio and do some personal work. Everyone needs a little of that sometimes. Or, if you’re doing this as a hobby, our creative rates can help you learn those necessarily skills as well. Our rates are $40/hour for creative-use photoshoots, with some exceptions.

2. We’ll give you some free promotion through blogging, social media and more!
We hope you’ve noticed when we blog about photographers that rent our studio. We believe that giving them that extra exposure could help showcase their creativity to potential clients. Telling a story could show their creativity and flexibility to work in different kinds of situations.
Not only that, we also talk about their shoot on our social media platforms, such as Facebook and Twitter. Plus, we send them out in our Monthly Newsletter to our clients and readers. In addition, since we are part of The Meat Market, we post these images up and get photographers featured and exposed to Art Directors all around North America.
